Off to China

Like a shot out of the blue .. my editor called up and asked me .. "Would you like to cover an assignment in China?" .. At first i thought she was kidding, but it turned out to be true. Having only worked for them for a couple months, and sommore i'm not a permanent staff .. i never expected to be given an assignment overseas, alone, with all expenses paid.

There is this Mother's Day contest at Gurney Plaza, which is owned by an international company which also owns several shopping malls and hotels around Asia. So every winner of the contest from each mall will represent their country in the grand finals in China.

Basically i'll just be there to follow the Gurney Plaza winner around and see her preparations and stuff. The contest is only for 2 days.. which means we have 3 days free to explore and go shopping around a few parts of China. Only bad thing is .. my bank balance isn't too healthy right now .. so my food expenses will probably push it towards the knock out stage, but i'm not complaining, its not everyday you get a free holiday worth RM5,000. And all i have to do is write one article on it .. Lol !

Well, was supposed to shop around for some stuff to buy for the trip. Then i saw this winter jacket at Winter Time in Island Plaza .. since it was in my favourite color, royal blue .. i just bought it. RM299. Everytime i go overseas, i'll probably buy one and add to my collection. I dunno why, but i just love puffy jackets with shiny silky material.



This is the older one for the Korea trip .. i like this sky blue too.

I guess i've bought everything that needs to be bought .. so just waiting for the day to come. Now i'm thinking and listing out all the people whom i should buy souvenirs for .. its a long list!
